How to open multiple Skype accounts on one computer simultaneously

You are reading this post because you have multiple Skype accounts on your computer (Windows and Mac OS) . Even I have two Skype accounts and the purpose of each Skype account is different. One is for my logo design business “Bleeping Design” for which the Skype id is “BleepingDesign” and the other is a personal account.

I stay logged into both account throughout the day as I need to keep in touch with my clients and friends at the same time and I’m sure you want to do the same.

There are multiple ways to accomplish this task. Using the below methods you can open 2 or more than two Skype accounts on the same PC at the same time.

Open Multiple Skype Accounts on Windows Operating System

Method 1:

windows key and R

All you have to do is press the windows key and R and paste the below path “C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary . This would only work if you have installed Skype in the default installation directory. If you have changed the installation drive then you just need to alter the path and this trick would definitely work.

skype installation path

Method 2:

Right Click on the desktop click on new –> shortcut

skype shortcut
Browse to the Skype installation directory ( default is C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe)
Add /secondary after the path

skype shortcut. path
click OK.

Note: If you’re using a 64-bit operating system, you will find the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe /secondary

Method 3:

multiple skype

Use Multi Skype Launcher. You can download it from www.multi-skype-launcher.com. Its really easy, once you install the software, Add your Skype account and click launch. They say that they don’t collect any information and its secure but I prefer the traditional method of creating shortcuts.

  2. Open a Terminal window
  3. cd /Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/
  4. sudo ./Skype
  5. Now, login to Account-2
  6. You will see two icons in the dock .
